The clinicians behind your care.
Five Dock Exercise Physiology is led by two practitioners with complementary specialties — Kevin Wong, dual-qualified in Physiotherapy and Exercise Physiology, and Andrew Lai, with a Master's in Exercise Physiology and a focus on chronic pain rehabilitation.
Kevin is one of a small number of Australian practitioners holding dual qualifications in Physiotherapy and Exercise Physiology. This combination is unusually valuable for clinical EP work — Kevin can deliver hands-on physiotherapy treatment and exercise programming within a single appointment, which is particularly useful for chronic conditions where both interventions are needed.
His specialty area is exercise for chronic health conditions — diabetes, cardiac rehabilitation, weight management, falls prevention, and the complex multi-condition presentations that often accompany ageing. He's worked across aged care, private practice clinics in Castle Hill and Parramatta, and elite-level rugby — bringing a clinical breadth that's well-suited to Five Dock's community demographic.
Kevin is also Trigger Point Dry Needling Level 1 certified and has completed the Coaching Explosive Speed program through the Academy of Sport Speed Australia.
Andrew completed his Master of Exercise Physiology at the University of Sydney in 2021. His clinical practice focuses on chronic pain rehabilitation — applying a biopsychosocial framework to people whose lives have been disrupted by persistent pain, often after years of medical investigation, treatment, and frustration with conventional approaches.
Andrew's approach is grounded in modern pain science. He believes that for many people in long-standing pain, the most powerful interventions are education, graded exposure to movement, and rebuilding confidence in the body's capacity. The goal is autonomy — your ability to manage your pain through your own knowledge, movement habits, and self-efficacy, not lifelong dependence on a clinician.
He also offers home visits across the Inner West for clients whose mobility, transport, or health makes a clinic visit difficult. This is particularly valued by older Australians on Home Care Packages, NDIS participants with mobility limitations, and post-hospital reconditioning clients.
Outside the clinic Andrew is personally active across powerlifting, jogging, volleyball, and bouldering — a personal commitment to lifelong movement that informs how he works with clients struggling to find their own way back to it.
📎 Andrew also maintains his own dedicated chronic pain practice website at andrewlaiep.com — additional resources, blog content, and information about his approach.
A larger team, behind both clinicians.
Five Dock Exercise Physiology operates within SportsFit Health & Rehab — a multidisciplinary clinic with physiotherapists, sports chiropractors, strength and conditioning coaches, and rehab equipment including the Inner West's only anti-gravity treadmill. When your case requires more than one perspective, the right person is usually one room away.
